ITRA Endurance Points (from 0 to 6) are a way to estimate the endurance difficulty of a race.
They are based on a kilometer-effort system :
1 km of distance = 1 effort point
100m+ of vertical ascent = 1 effort point
Ex: 45km / 1500m+ = 60 Km Effort (KmE)

ITRA Endurance points are awarded to any runner finishing an ITRA Member race.
To award ITRA Endurance points the race organizer must :
- Have an active member subscription
- Have uploaded a GPX file of the race path from their organizer account.
After analysis of this file by ITRA, disance and elevation gain values found and transformed into flat kilometer effort, awardind the ITRA Endurance points.
ITRA Endurance Points are considered as a proof of a runner experience to achieve races of a certain endurance difficulty.
To participate in some type of races, some race organizer require runners to show proof of experience by collecting ITRA points.
The organizer will require the runners to have obtained a defined number of ITRA points to be able to register to the race.
This system is often put in place by organizer to avoid beginner taking part into races they will probably not be able to finish, especially for longer distances or challenging races.
ITRA Endurance Points only assess the Endurance level of a race - It doesn't take into account the technicity & difficulty of the terrain.
Your ITRA Endurance points history is available on your runner account, under the Overview page.
