Gel Mix 480 is a carbohydrate fuel built on Maurten Hydrogel Technology, with 120 grams of carbohydrates in each sachet. It provides a new texture for runners that sits between Maurten Drink Mix and Gel — thicker than Drink Mix, but looser than the Gel. A different consistency, designed for runs that require consistent, high-volume fueling.
After consuming Gel Mix 480, it converts to a stronger gel structure in the acidity of the stomach. Hydrogel Technology enables the carbohydrates to be encapsulated by a hydrogel, which protects the carbs as they are carried through the stomach to the intestines. This is where they are absorbed and used as fuel - minimizing gastrointestinal issues that can come from consuming carbohydrate fuel while running.
